Why I built this

I worked at UQ for 13 years. Then I noticed a hotel I'd booked in Singapore was about 30% cheaper a week later. Most people never check again after they book, so I spent two years building something that does.

I worked at the University of Queensland for 13 years. A while back I booked a hotel in Singapore and, out of curiosity, checked the price a week later. The same room was about 30% cheaper.

Most people never check again after they book. I didn't either. So I left UQ and spent the next two years building something that does the checking for you.

It started with just me in Brisbane. There are five of us now. We can't outspend the big travel sites, but we can keep watching your booking after they've stopped.

I booked a hotel in Hong Kong in the morning and by that evening TrippyBid had already moved me to the same room for $71 less. I didn't fill in a form or ring anyone — it just happened.”
